Talk on Mac
A thought. A question.
A conversation.
Ask Ace out loud on your Mac. Explain what you need, get an answer, and keep the conversation going with a follow-up.

A practical way to talk through Mac work
Use voice when you have a half-formed idea, a passage to understand or a reply to write. You can name the tone, length and format you want instead of settling for a generic answer.
Try asking.
Example requests to try with your own context.

One useful first question.
- 1
Set up Ace on your Mac
Create an account and install the Mac app from its download page.
- 2
Choose your microphone
Approve the macOS microphone request for voice. Hold Command + Shift while you speak, then release for the answer. You can also use the app’s Talk control.
- 3
Ask and follow up
Try one question, then say what needs changing: shorter, clearer, more detailed or in another language.
Before you start
A few things to know.
Can I speak casually?
Yes. Ask in your own words. Naming the object or task helps Ace avoid guessing what “this” means.
Can Ace answer in a different language?
Ask for the language you want in the request. You can also specify the length and format.
How do I stop a response?
Use the Stop control in the current conversation. In web chat, you can ask again or start a new chat afterward.
